D.D.D.

The three D's are the ones that Brynna looks forward to each year...the Daddy Daughter Dance at school. She was worried since Jason has school on Thursday nights, that he wouldn't be able to go. Luckily, he understands that there are few years left that she will WANT him to accompany her to a dance. He took a cut in his grade to be able to be with his daugher. She was excited to get dressed up with makeup and all. She treats this like a serious date, of which I'm proud, because being with her dad will teach her what to expect from her future dates. He opens her doors, lets her pick the music, bought her flowers, and treated her like a queen. There is a special tie that Jason has with Brynna that I could never duplicate if I tried. They are alike in so many ways. There's an unspoken language between them that they just 'get' one another. I'm just so lucky to have them both.

Transformation

Have you ever done anything and awhile later look back and say, "What was I thinking?" I do that alot. Hair styles, dress styles, husband....(JK) :). So a couple years back I thought, hmm, I want to paint my bedroom green. I picked out what I wanted, but it went wrong once it hit the wall. With Jason, I have to choose my battles...if I would've said, 'let's change it' at that moment, I would get the 'look'. The 'look' lasts a long time, and I wasn't keen on dealing with it. Last weekend, my mother decided to help. She bought bedding, donated the paint, so I had NO excuse NOT to, neither did Jason. :)
We started at about 2 p.m. and ended around 11. Nothing says clean to me like fresh paint. So now, I am happy, though I need to lower the fixtures above the bed. That would've required me to ask Jason to do it and patch the holes; again by 11, the 'look' would've been fierce! Anyway, after looking, it's not quite what I want....so I'm on the hunt. I thought of doing lettering...if you have ideas, let me know.

Proof I Am Aging

Last week, I was able to have lunch with friends from Cali. I've known Mindy since I was her Valiant 8 teacher. I basically grew in the gospel with her. I served in Young Women's the entire time she was there. She is more my peer than anything. She is an amazing woman with much to offer and has a testimony that is rock solid. Even as her leader, she was teaching me. Soon, she will be leaving to serve a mission in Nauvoo, Illinois. They have no idea what a blessing they have coming their way. Renee, her mom, has always been a great support to me and I value her as a friend. We love the Lukens!!! PS. I HATE how I am the giant, they are so tiny!!
