Halloween '08

Dont' call them Boba Fett or Dead Bride because you are sorely mistaken. Plus, they are tired of correcting people. It's Captain Rex and Gothic Mummy.

We celebrated Snyder style. We ate great BBQ and had fun with games for the kids.

Nathan won just by outsmarting Randy's rigged blindfold. First, Randy taped his eyes shut. Next, he had a tie for a blind fold, topped by a hat over his eyes. Miraculously, he still managed to see and pin the nose on the pumpkin.

Her first kiss.

Notice who is carrying the pumpkin pail.

All Hollow's Eve Masquerade Ball

We went as the 'Phantom' theme to the Masquerade...and what do you know, won the best themed costume as a family. It has been a good year for our award tally, and probably the least we've spent on costumes. The kids have been looking forward to this night for weeks. Our biggest issue was trying to tear Nathan away from his teacher, who he has a HUGE crush on. We caught him dancing with her more than me. It's too soon to be fighting for his attention. It was a wonderful time hanging out and dancing with the entire family. A lot of work and effort was put into this event and I'm thankful the schools put together activities that are low cost and memorable.

Ward Halloween Party '08

Another successful event at the Beal's.Peace out. Where is the Barry's VW when you need it?

Alter Egos.

She may be wearing a halo, but don't let it fool you.

The patch is for the eye, Steph.

The Elders saving another soul.

Mom, it's Arizona...lose the jacket.

All I can say...is kuddos Amy. You are a better woman than I.

The Primary is full of witches...

We came as friends.

Johnny Did It

Nothing quite says Halloween like a good murder mystery with friends, food, and 80's attire. The theme was 'A Killer Reunion.' I haven't seen so many mullets since I watched Road House on AMC a few nights ago. The men were smokin'! (Suzanne gave some tough competition with her mullet as well.) The ladies made the 80's look totally radical!
It's a great excuse each year to learn more about your friends and let loose from the stress of life by getting into another character and likewise dressing 'out of the norm' (except for Matt). Basically, an excuse to be immature, play pretend, and find out which friends would sell you out for 20 bucks.

(Exibit A: 'Linda and Jenny'. High school enemies.)

(Exhibit B: Bobby and Becky. Bobby did all he could to protect Johnny, but still failed in the end. He went home Best Performer. I don't think he'll care about Johnny locked in prison while he's enjoying Babbo's.)

(Exhibit C: Michael and Mary. Two words: hair extensions.)

(Exhibit D: Nate and Nancy. No one really knows who they were or why they even came. But the inner struggle for me all night was MOTAB or Dynasty?)

(Exhibit E: Mark and Maria. Can you see why she isn't my friend anymore? Where did she find this guy? A Van Halen video?)

(Exhibit F: Thomas and Tisha. Way too nice to end up the wealthiest player of the game. She took home shredded currency from the Federal Reserve. When they finally piece it all together in the next millenia, they should be looking at 500 grand.)

(Exhibit G: Peter and Paula. No comment. Just ask him the cause of his heart attack.)

(Exhibit H: Lenny and Linda. Losers turned rock stars. Why are they famous? Best Costumes.)

(Exhibit I: Steven and Susan. Their part was a bit of a stretch. I am worried if he didn't have this outlet, he really would be a raging lunatic.)

(Exhibit J: Johnny and Jenny. Who knew such a handsome man could be capable of countless murders? I had my name smeared so he wouldn't be caught. Kelli, the cheer outfit was for you!!)
********By the way....I don't have a picture of our detectives...if any of you have one, please forward it to me so I can post.

Spooktacular Party

Oh you know it, you are looking at this year's first prize costumes for the Smith's 8th Annual Spooktacular Party. We came as the 'Phantom Couple.' I thought there were many costumes that were way better, but I won't ever turn down an award. I was not able, however, to give my acceptance speech so, first, I'd like to thank....my husband, for always being willing to humiliate himself with me. Second, my mom, for letting me drag her all over town trying to find a couple's costume that was appropiate ;-). Third, to Kelley, for even allowing us the opportunity to have a great time, dance, eat way too much, and providing an entertaining date night. (Sniff, sniff)

The beautiful host herself. I wish you could see more of her outfit...she looked fabulous!

Madame Zoloft gave me a reading. Apparantly, I am going to be a carnie and kill thousands of children from a missing screw on the Tilt-O-Wheel.

We had to put up with their endless bickering all night.
The 'Phantom' and 'Phil' gave confessions.
We 'thought' we knew our home teacher well. Seems there is a Word of Wisdom issue.

Friends....

....

I don't think he'll be eating a powdered donut for a REALLY long time.

Kelley is so inspirational in everything she does; from her artwork to decorating. I had to get pictures of her house. Many of the decorations she created herself.
