Dear Ann Landers
I may not always agree with Ann Landers or her sister, but one thing I feel their advice has done is given me a glimpse of who they are personally. I always figure if you REALLY want to know someone, ask their opinion on something. You could find many things: they could be/possess: compassion, diplomat, sarcasm, seriousness, wisdom, unethical, joyful, pessimist, optimist, patient, insensitive, intelligent, way off (from my way of thinking), or right on the nose, etc., etc., etc.
I have always meant for my blog to be my personal journal. I don't write, nor scrapbook, or record myself. Publishing my blog in a book is all my kids will have of me when I am gone. I really want my kids to have a sense of who I am so they know where they come from. Whether they agree with my thoughts or not, I want them to know how strong my convictions are to me. I can do that by putting up thousands of pictures (since they say a thousand words), but even more importantly, I feel the need to really delve into my heart, my ideas, my personal opinions, myself. That to me is worth even more than a photograph. I feel I have done this a few times with some of my posts. That's where I have felt the real 'me' has come through. I can process some things in writing that can never seem to make it eloquently off my tongue and past my lips.
So, I am going to you (my blog readers) to help me out. What are some topics that would be good for me to write about? They could be heartfelt, journal entry related material, totally freakishly odd things (which seem to come more natural for me), or just ask my opinion on something. I'll take your comments and emails and randomly do posts about them. Not so much to be a 'Dear Jen' psychiatrist, but to help my family and children know more about me, and through writing, more than anything, I learn more about myself. It's usually through someone else's questions to me which cause me to ponder things, some of which I blog about, so I am safe to say my ideas and inspiration come best from you.Feel free to be anonymous.

I sometimes write my opinions and then feel foolish like I let someone in the corners of my brain. I want to delete it all!! I really like your perspective on letting your children learn about who you really are. I'm going to have that be my attitude instead. I love authentic people!!
I think you should write about child rearing and rules and thoughts-Id be interested android vs bad food spending vs giving fun vs service using time wisely stuff. Thats a mouth full.
Also- love love love my asics- they are the best. Enjoy them!!
(that was supposed to be good food vs bad food)
I love writing in my journal - it covers everything on how I want to change mine or the children's scheudles; ideas for homeschooling; topics I am currently studying; my thoughts and feelings on gospel topics; things going on in my life; coutning my blessings, etc... My children will have a very tough time figuring it all out when I am gone. :)
Here is something that I think your children will cherish - your unique take on the gospel. Not only are you an active member of the church, but you are also a convert. So much of the church can fall into a "culture" and those who are converts break the "culture" and remind the rest of us what the gospel is really about.
In my own family, there are some very funny (and serious) stories where my father (who is a convert) misunderstood a culture vs. gospel concept; my husband has had similar experiences as well. :) Love to share if you want to hear!
I stink at asking advice... so how about the merits of ASKING for advice or help vs. being Superwoman and figuring it out by trial and error?
I think you should write about what it means to be a true friend.
Is cupid real? Robbie asked this to me the other day....
Anonymous is my favoirte commentor on your blog! Is there a not-so-hidden meaning there? Anywho, I think you should write about real issues...like, pumps vs. flats, etc.
