A Not So Relaxing Night

I have been begging...I mean BEGGING for Jason to take me to this hotel for years. Ladies, if you nag enough, they will have enough. Seriously, I don't know what finally broke him down, but it was a night we will never forget. For starters, I am fascinated with the paranormal. Yes, that explains a lot. I've had too many experiences that only peak my intrigue that much more. Ever since the first time I went to Jerome, I was enthralled with it's history. This hotel was at the top of my priority list. Built as a hospital, the building still has the patient lights outside the rooms, the original Otis elevator still runs, and the boiler in the basement still serves as the heater. At one time, the hospital was one of the top three in the nation and was the first hospital that experimented with putting patients 'under' during operations.
We signed up to do the ghost hunt tour. I mostly wanted it because it was the only way to tour the entire hospital with stories of the paranormal happenings. They equipped us with an EMF reader, a digital infra-red thermometer, and digital camera for the night. At the end, everyone turns in their cameras and they make a master disc with all the pictures for everyone to take home. Our immaturity started here.
We have so many stories. Some are:
1. We made it our goal, that by the end, everyone on the tour would be photographed with a red dot from the thermometer on their forehead. This took teamwork with intriquet timing.
2. Dusty furniture lined the hallways. We left messages from beyond the grave within the dust for the cleaning ladies.
3. One of our favorites...we had a group of women in our tour. They were in their 50's and were sisters visiting from out of state. They asked what floor we were on. When we told them the 3rd floor...they said we couldn't pay them enough to stay where all the ghostly action supposedly takes place. We asked what floor they were on, they replied in room 10 where the only reports on that floor are of a woman singing and a cat that still haunts the halls. We couldn't pass it up. Around 1 a.m. we were roaming the deserted and awkwardly quiet hallways. We got outside room 10 and did our best cat impressions.
Unfortunately, nothing outstanding happened to us after bedtime. We woke up to a towel on the floor. I know, scary. I did have an awkward wake up with a uncomfortable feeling, but nothing beyond that.
We plan to go back, this time with a group. Who's man enough?

The light at the top is our balcony. We did not turn the light on.

We ate at the Asylum. It was one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. The food was spectacular. My choice, their famous Spicy Butternut Squash Soup.

Smells like your Grandma's house.

Looks like your Grandma's house.

Spooky like your Grandma's house.

Jason got this shot. He got a line of orbs that came from around the corner in that doorway.

Um, yeah.

Our view from our balcony.

My view of my man from the balcony.
AWWWW!!!

Someone stole the Barry's van and stuck stickers EVERYWHERE. The town is still full of interesting people. (A.K.A. Hippies)

This has got to be the most random thing ever. More interesting, is that you've had your eye on it and it wasn't a spontaneous trip. :) I love it! Sounds like you had lots of fun doing some pranks- or actually I think that's a normal part of life for you. I think I'm in for the next trip?!

Love the "insane-guy-in-the-wheelchair" decor...it sets the mood, I'll bet. And the bumper stickers are great -

I've been to the Haunted Hamburger in Jerome...but that's the extent of my adventuresomeness. I get scared really easily. I am glad you guys had a great time though!

We go to the Jerome bus convention at the haunted mill up the hill every year. That place is VW bus CITY. What the heck is that ghost doing in the hallway? It looks like a wedding dress.

Adam and I got freaked out just reading this post. It made us fart...oh wait - we just smell that way.

Jealous! Looks fun. I would totally come along, although I would probably end up crying and peeing my pants in a corner.

Eric would love this!! He is always watching ghost adventures. He is a firm believer in the paranormal. I would be too freaked out to ever stay in a place like that. I'm glad you got your wish!!
