If the snow won't come to us, then we will find it. I think everyone was beginning to get cabin fever after being home for the week. All we've heard from family and friends was about all the snowy weather they were having. Frankly, we were feeling left out, and a bit bored of our 60 degree weather. Friday, we thought we would get in the car and drive north without a final destination in mind; as long as we found snow to play in. We drove toward Sedona to spend some time there and then headed toward Flagstaff. It wasn't 30 below zero, but it was cold enough to get the nose running and the hands and ears numb. The kids could have played for hours. They were brutal; throwing ice chunks instead of powder puff. We did manage to get the truck stuck, but I can assure you, it was all for the 'ambiance'. The best part is, this one day of snow will do me good for the next year. While my eyes love the scenery of a winter's day in mountain country, my body loves the warmth of the Phoenix sun.

Christmas at Mesa Temple
Seeing the Christmas lights at the temple each year always brings a sweet feeling of peace. I remember as a child, how I loved driving around with my parents looking at homes that were decorated top to bottom and the excitement it brought. I love seeing the same eager expressions in my children now. My parents did a wonderful job of balancing the 'magic' of Christmas with the true meaning of Christmas. While we love seeing the beautiful lights and listening to the musical talents at the temple, our favorite is seeing the nativities from around the world. The representations of the nativity and birth of the Savior Jesus Christ from different countries is a sweet reminder of the light of Christ we all share and knowing His love extends to all. I took a few pictures that made an impression on me. May you all have a Merry Christmas.

Family Photos
We make a goal each year to get family photos done. I thought as the kids got older, it would be easier. Not so. Out of over 400 some pictures we got about 5 or so we really liked. We had some interesting out-takes that we used to Elf Ourselves. If you click on the title of the post, you'll be able to watch it. I haven't been able to get to editing and cropping them all, but here are a few of my personal faves:
